Thank you for visiting the official web site for Karl Dickey's County Commission run for office!

The current county commissioner for District 4 is Mary McCarty who is being term limited out of the office, leaving the seat open for the 2010 election.

We at the campaign are working tirelessly to help restore our inalienable rights for authentic liberty and fiscal responsibility to Palm Beach County, which has been too long absent from our county commissioners. We truly need the support of Palm Beach County citizens who want to restore our government to its proper size and role.

For so long as I have been voting in Palm Beach County, Republican and Democratic politicians have talked about solving problems that face the county; but their so-called solutions have only made things worse - higher taxes; larger public debt; greater intrusions into our personal lives; more rapes, murders, and theft; and a deteriorating school system that graduates fewer and fewer people who can read and do basic math.

Often I find myself in discussions that educate the public and dispel myths of what a Libertarian is. At the core, a Libertarian is one that believes in maximizing individual freedom so long as that freedom does not infringe the rights and freedoms of another. Libertarians strongly support and defend individual rights, property rights, and feel the government's role is to help individuals defend themselves from force, theft, and fraud.

Hopefully, you are ready for a serious change to the politics-as-usual here in Palm Beach County and expect a fresh approach to the problems that plague us. Libertarian ideas were instrumental in the birth of our country, and they can inspire a return to the individual initiative, responsibility, and prosperity that were once part of the American dream. To this end, I ask that you help me share our message of liberty, true hope and government restraint in Palm Beach County by signing a petition (see below) to get me on the ballot if you live within D istrict 4.
